Scribe Community - Navigation Guide
Purpose
This procedure explains how users can access the Scribe Community to view training resources, including video courses available through the Learning/Academy area.
Scope
This guide applies to all Scribe Accounts users who need to access training materials, including Clerks, RFOs, Administrators, and Councillors with system access.
Prerequisites
- A valid Scribe Accounts login
- Appropriate user permissions to access the Learning/Academy area
- Internet connection and a web browser
Procedure

Log in to Scribe Accounts
- Navigate to the Scribe Accounts login page and enter your credentials.

Access the Learning area via your profile
- Click your name in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Select Learning from the dropdown menu.
Alternative navigation:
- Click Academy on the left-hand main menu.

Open the Scribe Community
- The system will redirect you to the Scribe Community platform.

Navigate to the Courses tab
- Select Courses from the top navigation bar.

View available training videos
- The Courses area will display all available training videos and materials.
- Click any course tile to begin a video or module.
Troubleshooting / Common Issues
| Issue | Possible Cause | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| Unable to access Learning or Academy | Insufficient user permissions | Contact your system administrator to update your user role. |
| Scribe Community does not load | Browser-related issue | Refresh the page or try another browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox). |
| Courses tab is not visible | Temporary platform issue or incorrect account state | Log out and back in; if the problem persists, contact Scribe Support. |
| Videos will not play | Network or firewall restrictions | Check your internet connection; if using a council network, ensure external video hosting is permitted. |
