New Users Unable to Access Scribe

If a new user is having trouble logging into Scribe for the first time, it is usually because the account activation process got a little out of order. Here is why this happens and how to get them up and running quickly.

Why is this happening?

When new users try to log in, they might bypass the official "Accept Invitation" process and go straight to Forgot Password or Set Password on the login screen.

โš ๏ธ The Golden Rule: Using the standard "Forgot Password" option before an account has been fully activated will not complete the setup process. New users must use the specific link found in their original invitation email to activate their account.

How to Fix It (Admin Instructions)

If a user can't find their original invite or is stuck in a login loop, you can easily reset the process for them:

  1. Navigate to the Users screen in your admin dashboard.
  2. Locate the user having trouble.
  3. Click Resend Invite.

What to Tell the User

Once you have resent the invite, send a quick note to the user with these steps:

  • Step 1: Look for a new email to Activate Account / Set Password. (Check the spam/promotions folder if it doesn't appear in the inbox within a few minutes).
  • Step 2: Click the link inside that specific email to activate the account and set a password.
  • Step 3: Avoid using the general "Forgot Password" link on the login page until this initial setup is complete.
